This is how you imagine a hearty Bavarian tavern. Cozy atmosphere, hearty and very tasty food, good beer, friendly wait staff. The game shooter is not only highly praised but also always keeps what he promises. Great food at decent prices. A visit is worthwhile for both tourists and locals - you always go out satisfied ... ? The old Bavarian bread soup is particularly recommended.

Food was a dream, especially the Kasspatzen are highly recommended. The prices are almost too cheap for the quality. After a hike, probably the best restaurant in all of Garmisch.

Very tropical food . Schweinshaxe must pre-Order make reservations when you call for book reservation . But this dish you should not miss when you come here in Ga-Pa :) . It's very big portion and tasty and sause is different from another Schweinshaxe I have eat from another restaurant. You should plan belly and reserv table before because always full and long booking.

The food was just delicious! But it is better to make a reservation, with a lot of luck a table would still be free. Nice service and inside it was also very nice and appropriately decorated. Price performance is right :) gladly again

The main course was very tasty and well portioned. The service was very friendly and courteous. What gave the evening a bad taste, however, was the side salad, which was charged at a mere € 5.80 without prior notice. With the price of the main course (approx. 19 €) I thought that the salad offered was already included in the price. The house schnapps is also very tasty, but also costs € 4.00

We ate there 2 times during this holiday. So tried 4 different dishes. Everything tasted very good. The portions were huge and very nicely presented. The staff very polite.

Reservation uncomplicated, very friendly staff. Eat very large portions and very good. Dessert was also delicious. Toilets very clean and modern. Good price-performance ratio. The decoration of the premises was a bit much, but that's my personal impression, otherwise everything was great.

Walchensee in rainy days

We came spontaneously at 6:15 p.m. and immediately got a seat inside. The service was great. The ladies were very friendly, the order was taken and less than 10 minutes later we had the food on the table. The pictures speak for themselves. ? The knuckle is very generous, so it's best to skip lunch!

I was waiting patiently outside to ask for a table. As a staff member appeared so too did a German couple. I attempted to get the attention of the staff member first as I'd been waiting considerably longer. I was rudely shunned whilst speaking so they could cater for the Germans. Quite bizzare and anti-Anglo.

Very good food. Very nice waitresses. The food came quickly despite the full hut! We had the haxn and the crust roast. Both very tasty! The house schnapps is also recommended! Fruity and not too strong ? The schnapps was so good that I treated myself to a bottle ? Gladly again!

In any case, reservations should be made, the inn is very popular! So we had great expectations. The main courses (schnitzel and roast) were delicious, but the taste didn't blow us away. The curd pancake for dessert was just heavenly! The food came quickly and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Food super delicious! Service / service very friendly and asked 1-2 times whether everything was ok. For a schnapps, you pay at least 4 € (also for the homemade schnapps) Reserve beforehand, as it is always full - but also authorized.

Fantastically Bavarian! Great service, fantastic food, prices / performance more than appropriate. Not for nothing so many positive reviews, definitely again next time you stop in Garmisch!

Had a "Deer Bürger" with amazing French fries. Saw one of the waitresses smoking in the kitchen area. I pointed it out to our waitress who covered for her to me by saying she wasn't smoking in the kitchen when I was looking directly at her. Then on the sly she told the smoking waitress with the blonde braid what I said & she went into the kitchen and closed the door. A second waitress was about to do the same thing as I saw her stand in the same spot and roll a cigarette. My waitress informed her that I was looking so she didn't light up. Apparently this is common & acceptable practice in this restaurant and for this reason I will never return there to eat. If by chance there is a next time, I will call the German police which I considered doing today. It's a shame because the food is good.

Great regional food, super nice service, you can sit outside and there is delicious beer and schnapps! What more do you want? We arrived in Garmisch Partenkirchen in the afternoon and had an appetite after a long drive. By chance, after a walk through the pedestrian zone, we ended up in "Zum Wildschütz". We got a seat outside and opted for 2 Helle, goulash and roast pork. Every decision was worth it. The whole thing was then rounded off with a fruit schnapps. We'd love to come back the next time we visit Garmisch Partenkirchen!

Nice place, traditional, but I am sure you will find better restaurants in Ga-Pa, that are not that expensive and have a greater variety of dishes.

Here you can enjoy great Bavarian cuisine in a very nice atmosphere. The food is delicious. We had game goulash and once beef steak with bacon beans. The potato soup is highly recommended as a starter. Mega delights. The staff is very attentive and helpful. It's worth stopping here.

No, there are enough alternatives, here you probably live from the good reputation of the last decade. Table was reserved 3 days in advance, we arrived on time, our table was then just taken. We were then put in the last corner, cozy corner or something that was called "nice". Right next to the kitchen window including all smells and the volume. There was a beach chair there in which 2 out of 5 people had to sit, unfortunately it is much too high and you can only eat bent forward. We resigned ourselves to this but would have done better. To eat, the garlic tarte flambée had no taste at all, 3 other meals were just ok, one meal was good. There was actually no reaction that the food wasn't that great. Since you always have to make a reservation there anyway, because it is always full, I have no understanding for a small "Corona" card and if so please change the card on the homepage and not attract people with a big great card and then there is just a mini card. My tip, across the street in Fischers Mohrenplatz is much better.

Cozy restaurant, which is also reflected in the decor. The whole thing is completed by the always friendly, attentive service. What probably got around, so I would suggest better reserving a table for the evening. A good selection of dishes where everyone should find something. A clear recommendation on my part.

We went to the Wildschütz to eat today and loved it. The goulash was so tender it almost crumbled. The crust roast was incredibly juicy and the crust just right crispy and not too firm. The mushroom cream sauce was fantastic too! Real, hearty, delicious home-style cooking. Although it was very crowded, it was very cozy, thanks in large part to the friendly wait staff. They were very accommodating and were happy to meet special requests. Despite the great rush they conveyed calm and made our evening very pleasant with their wit and charm. 5 stars and an unconditional recommendation! You should definitely reserve in advance to get a seat.

A very traditional Bavarian restaurant. If you are looking for this kind of place and expect a decent quality this is certainly a place to consider. It is a bit pricey, rather crowded and there is nothing truly special. Reserving a table ahead of time is a good idea.

Small portions at relatively high prices, but the taste is very good! The service was very nice and tried hard, unfortunately the portions were too small for us (normal eaters), especially the side dishes. Without the additionally ordered large mixed salad with plenty of bread, we would have been hungry for the main course here and at a bit expensive prices :-( It tasted great! Price performance should be adjusted.

The food is amazing! It's alittle pricey but worth it. Make sure you get reservations because it fills up quickly.

Fantastic restaurant specializing in regional food with emphasis on meat dishes especially game. Make a reservation or go early. Pre-order the Haxen/pork knuckle, it's divine. The mushroom soup is heavenly as well.

According to all recent critics, I have to say that the service was actually perfect. The food is amazing for a reasonable price, so to eat proper good German food, I highly recommend. But be prepared to not be the only tourist in this place. Locals might rather go somewhere else. Still a great experience.

Visiting from America! Excellent & personable staff. Environment was quintessential German down to the live accordion music and lederhosen. Food was superb. Ordered the roast pork in dark beer sauce. Would definitely order again. Good beer selection too!
